Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's studio on August 23, 1957, the session pairs Coltrane with pianist Red Garland, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Art Taylor. The five-track program includes the expansive “Traneing In,” alongside “Slow Dance,” “Bass Blues,” “You Leave Me Breathless,” and “Soft Lights and Sweet Music.”

Part of the legendary Original Jazz Classics Series, this new edition is all-analog mastered from the original tapes at Cohearent Audio and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI. The LP is presented in a Stoughton Tip-On Jacket with OBI, making this a definitive vinyl edition for Coltrane listeners and jazz collectors alike.
